B. Kalyan was born in Jaipur, India in 1922. He studied in Sir J.J.School of Art in Mumbai, India. He had traveled and held exhibitions in Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda and Kenya. He established an Art College at Nairobi by the name of CAC i.e. Creative Art Centre. he has presented portraits to first Indian Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, Tanzanian President Julius Nerere, Zambian President Kaunad, Kenyan President Daniel T. arap Moi to name a few. He died in 1997.
